Fifteen of the 16 Katy ISD schools within the Cinco Ranch master-planned community have earned the “Exemplary Rating”. Exemplary is the highest possible rating a school can earn. The 2010 Accountability Ratings were just released by the Texas Education Agency and the TEA rated these 15 schools with the highest of the four ratings assigned.
An Exemplary rating for a campus means that at least 90% of the campuses students meet or exceed the TAKS standard on each subject including Reading, English/Language, Math, Writing, Social Studies, and Science. To receive an Exemplary rating, a campus must also have a dropout rate of 2% or less.
Taylor High School is the only school that serves the Cinco Ranch community that was not rated Exemplary. However, Taylor High School did receive the TEA’s second highest rating, Recognized.
The breakdown of schools attended by Cinco Ranch students receiving the Exemplary rating included eight elementary campuses: Creech, Exley, Fielder, Griffin, Kilpatrick, Rylander, Stanley, and Williams. Junior Highs include Beck, Beckendorff, Cinco Ranch, McMeans, and Woodcreek. The Exemplary rated High Schools attended by Cinco Ranch community students are Cinco Ranch and Seven Lakes.
The wonderful schools located within the community of Cinco Ranch are a major reason why Cinco Ranch was ranked the number one community in the nation for new-home sales in 2009. The 2010 TEA ratings are just the most recent rankings about Cinco Ranch schools. Newsweek’s “2010 America’s Best High Schools” study ranked these same Exemplary rated high schools within the top 3% of the nation’s high schools.
Cinco Ranch once again has proven why it deserves the title of Number One Community in the Nation.
