The community of Firethorne, which in 2010 has exceeded all of its previous January to July new home sales records, has broken ground on its newest section, Firethorne West. The westward expansion of this community will consist of 430 acres within the 1,400 acre master-designed community we call Firethorne.
“Firethorne’s steady growth in its first five years, with more than 1,000 home closings to date, paves the way for us to move forward on this next phase of development,” said Firethorne General Manager Wayne Meyer.
The plans for Firethorne West call for the construction of such resident amenities as a Competitive Swim Center, community center, a landscaped park and playground area. The 430 acres of Firethorne West will consists of 1,400 home sites, in addition to 530 home sites on acreage being developed across FM 1463 that includes three lakes with water features.
Lamar C.I.S.D. (Consolidated Independent School District) will serve Firethorne West families. Meyer noted that Huggins Elementary, Briscoe Junior High, Wertheimer Middle, and Foster High School rank favorably to Firethorne’s zoned Katy I.S.D. schools in the annual rankings published by the Houston Chronicle.
The Firethorne West sections will feature 50- and 60-foot by 120- to 130-foot lots. The new home sites east of FM 1463 will be 70- and 80-foot by 130-foot in size. Homes in the new sections should be up by the fourth quarter of 2010. Model homes are open in Firethorne Model Parks I and II.
The residents of Firethorne West will have access to all of the Firethorne amenities, including the new Competitive Swim Center, Fitness Center, the regulation lacrosse playing fields, and the new Firethorne tennis courts. The developer’s of Firethorne continue to demonstrate their commitment to their residents’ individual and team sport fitness.
